Donald Trump is a symptom, not a disease.

He didn’t create the radical right that is sweeping the globe. He didn’t create the xenophobia that he used to drum up support in his campaign, the same xenophobia present in and creating issues in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe.

He didn’t create the greed that has defined his life and has been defining sects of America for centuries. He didn’t create the mass delusion of anti-science and anti-fact that has been festering beneath the surface for decades.

Yes, we will fight him wherever he threatens our wellbeing, wherever he spreads his diseased view of the world.

But once he’s down, we can’t simply drop our fists and rest on our laurels. The next tyrant will be close behind, and rather than the wannabe-Hitler/failed-tycoon we currently have, the next guy might be a bona fide fascist.
